Freedom Check - May 2015 (Feeling the squeeze)

At the end/beginning of every month, I will update the status of my freedom fund as a way to stay accountable to you and myself. Assuming everything else remains constant, the freedom fund is based on the number of months that I am able to sustain myself without income.

Freedom Check - May 2015

Income = 100%

Less:
Family = 10.1%
Personal = 0.8%
Rental = 27.8%
Food = 31.2%
Transport = 6.9%
Cell = 1.0%
Household = 0.5%
Travel = 3.2%
Misc. = 0%
Shopping = 5.1%

Contribution to Freedom Fund = 13.4%

Value of freedom: 18.09 months

Commentary: After I decided to take the plunge, my income has dropped by 40%, and my feet is still stuck in the mud.

It's been my second month now living an almost 'paycheck-to-paycheck' life but these few months have been extremely taxing as I'm juggling between getting my income line back to normal and my wedding arrangements.

By the end of this month, my focus should be back on getting that income line back up again.

Damn it.

  1. Your still making your numbers after leaving the corporate world. You've got it.

    1. I wish I'd left the corporate world Adam...haha, but I'm still in it (at least for now) but I'm on a part-time basis now. Still looking for the next rat cage to continue building my freedom fund.

  2. Your still increasing your NW slowly but surely even though you aren't able to save as much. And I'm sure you're a little more conscious on all of your spending too.

      But it's a good exercise in pushing my limits.
